Tall rules.

I’ve always been the tall girl. I was born long. For years, I hated standing out. To this day, I can hear my dad’s words ringing in my ears, “stand up properly Fiona, don’t slouch.”

Writing our own rules.

One of things I’ve loved most about launching and growing Nor-Folk is the ability to write my own rules. I’m not anti-conformity but I am anti-design for the sake of it. I prefer to design with consideration and crafting. Creating something that has the ability to stand the test of time and I think this approach is routed in our graphic design education.

The accidental photographer.

I started documenting our lives on Instagram when our son, Stanley, was born (just snaps from my iPhone). Then, for Christmas 2014, Bobby bought me a Nikon DSLR. To say I was ungrateful would be an understatement! I was so busy having just launched Nor-Folk – plus I hadn’t picked up a proper camera since I was at art school! Reluctantly I accepted Bobby’s other gift of two hours tuition with photographer Tatum Reid. Tatum soon refreshed me on the basics/fundamentals. From then on, I was hooked and have photographed (almost) everything in our lives ever since.

Nor-Folk x tokyobike collaborative video.

We’ve long been admirers of the beautiful bikes and beautiful brand of tokyobike so, when we were approached by photography and video production company, Fox and Favour, to partner with and launch the new little tokyobike, we jumped at the opportunity.

Behind the lookbook.

Back in late December of last year, when most people were preparing for Christmas, we were co-ordinating our 2016 childrenswear lookbook. After a call on social media for children to apply we narrowed our models down to 8 children.
