A catch up with Harry Maddison, Nor-Folk’s men’s fashion contributor, talking about summer fashion and customisation.
Summer is finally here in the UK and the weather hasn’t let us down… despite a couple of light showers, the sun has been basking in all of its glory, and so have I. This month I’m going to showcase what I’ve been wearing to make the most of the glorious weather.
For a long time, I have had a love for Moschino clothing and with the arrival of Jeremy Scott the outcome has been pretty amazing. I picked up this jumper from Philip Browne Menswear at a discounted price in their epic sale and I can say there hasn’t been a week where I have not worn this at least once. The colour is very basic and can work with pretty much anything, and I love it’s bold statement print, because why would you want it small?
The shoes are very unique and give off that urban street style, a touch of class with their air bubble sole and full leather oxford shape. These are from Royal Republiq, a leather brand rooted in Denmark and based in Amsterdam, where they offer a wide range of amazing leather goods at reasonable prices for the quality they are produced to. I cannot get enough of these and the white version currently resides on my shopping list.
And finally my shorts are an old pair of Levis I picked up from Goldfinches vintage store in Norwich a while back, which I have customised to suit being worn inside out by cutting a few slots for access to my pockets. The inspiration came from the Lacoste L!ve Vintage Ads Capsule and they add a completely different feel and uniqueness to the look, which is what fashion is all about.
Until next time,
