Our menswear contributor, Harry Maddison, finds inspiration from Norwich Fashion Week.
What have I been up to this month? With Norwich Fashion Week under way I have attended a lot of fittings for the many retail and designer shops featured for the event, finding myself in the city on numerous occasions. So, for this month’s post, I am going to feature a little haul of what I have been buying and where I found it all.
I made my first ever visit to GAP, which I loved. I have known about the brand for years but never taken the plunge to actually go in to one of their stores and see what they had to offer. I must say I loved it. I had always seen GAP as a very basic store, but I found several pieces in there that really depicted the current market in fashion like, for instance, the bomber jacket. I walked out of the store with two jumpers, a pair of socks and some grey chinos but easily could have left with so much more.
Those being my first buys, secondly, I found myself a lovely pair of monk strap Dr. Martens X Raf Simons and I absolutely love them. In fact, I have not removed these from my feet as of yet! Admittedly, I purchased these from eBay so finding these on sale somewhere will be difficult, however, the monk strap is currently a must have in the shoe department and can be worn whenever and wherever without looking too smart or too shabby.
Thirdly, and finally, I picked up an amazing pair of pink trousers from H&M that are part of the current David Beckham Modern Essentials range. The new range was released on Monday 2nd March, and its collection offers something for every man’s wardrobe. The trousers that I bought (for only £20) have the most amazing slim and tapered fit and also a stretch material that develops such comfort when wearing them. Now, to own a pair of pink trousers sounds outrageous, but I can assure you, they look great and, once the sun is out in all of its glory, with the colourful outfits reappearing on the streets, they will look amazing.
That’s all I have for you this month, so until next time…
